Are You Indispensable?
I’ve written this somewhere, but Seth Godin has a unique way of telling stories and Linchpin is no exception. Usually, you’re used to an account with a narrative where things are fluid and factual. He does this, but each chapter, section, page feel like a thought or a reflection that forces you to think about a particular topic differently. And all of it connects.
He’s amazingly knowledgable, and his books are a pleasure to read, but if you think that this is a “do this, and you’ll be successful” book, you’ll be mistaken. There’s no road to success; there’s work and lot more that he describes in the book. The whole point is for you to become something special—a Linchpin. Someone so good that becomes indispensable. A book that makes you think and challenges you to become someone better that people can’t ignore you, transforming what you do in something you love.
