Tools: Notion

Notion is a service that has gathered a “cult” following and with good reason. It’s an amazing service that combines databases, wiki, note-taking, and much more by providing their own take on how things work between themselves and let you explore and create whatever you need.

Notion is a service that is hard to explain. It merges many concepts and presents them in a simple way for most people to understand. To get you started, I recommend importing some templates and see what it’s all about. The community is quite strong, and it provides amazing templates that can get you going in no time. It’s also effortless to use once you get the hang of it, so I highly recommend you take a look.

The problem it solves

In my opinion, the main problem it solves is the diversity of tools for one job. You have tools for everything that Notion does, but it integrates nicely and in a user-friendly way, complex concepts. It doesn’t force you to do anything in a certain way and provides an extensive library of “blocks” (that’s how each object is called in Notion) that enable you to go wild and build exactly what you need for your (or your team’s) daily tasks.

Why I use it?

I like the flexibility that Notion provides me. I have a lot of information that I gather and, with the calendar, timeline, and other “views,” I can see the same information differently. For example, I can have a “database” with the posts for this website and data for when they will be published and then have another calendar view with the posts in it. Amazing integration, and I’m only scratching the surface.
