How are things going and new sections.

How are things going and new sections.

I usually do a "how things are going" in the beginning of the year to understand how things went the year before and to plan for the following year. But things have been busy for a while and I decided to write one now.

The first thing that you'll notice is that this is published on a Sunday. It's not my usual slot and I didn't want to "waste" weekly article slots in posting an article that most people won't use.

So here's the news and how things are going.

New Sections

I have 4 new sections and revived a bit of the "old sections", but let's look at the new "shiny":

  1. N8N Trigger Reference - I've been using N8N for a while. I even created a section here in the site 8 months ago but ended up not posting a lot (or nothing), so it's time to start posting things that you might need while building N8N automations. I'm not leaving power automate behind but there are things each does better than the other, so why not share the experience.
  2. Excel Function Reference - I see a lot of Excel function references in the internet and they don't do a lot for me. I'm always missing information. I want to use the same strategy as all the other references and write about everything that I can find to have a decent reference to check when I need it. Like everyone I use Excel all the time, so why not share experiences (I see a pattern here 😃)?
  3. Xcode - I've been doing some testing and creating some apps to fix some of the issues that I had. I will share stuff there periodically and try to update my experiences but this is largely exploratory. If you want me to post more stuff please let me know
  4. Python - I won't say "share experiences" again, but you see the point. I use a technology and I want to share what I learn with you. I've been doing a lot of development for clients so I have a lot of small things and paper-cuts that I had and don't want you to have either, so I'm sharing them here too.

As for the "old sections" it's my recommendations. In the past I published articles about tools, podcasts and books, but ended up never posting more information and never had a proper section for them. I will try to update them more frequently (it's been 5 years since the last update), so that you have more information.

Need a hand? I've got consulting slots open

Business is still going well but I'm starting to have available consulting slots. If you need help please let me know and we can figure out if I can help you. I can help not only in Power Automate and overall automation, but like I said also development and project management.

If you're an independent that is overwhelmed with tasks and don't know what to do first please reach out and we can talk about how I can help you. We can work around your budget and either build something that saves you time or I can manage your projects for you so that you can focus on what's important and brings money to the company.

Final Thoughts

Overall things are great and getting rid of Wordpress was one of the best decisions I've made for the health of the site. I've been shipping improvements all the time and lose a lot less time trying to make things work. Time I can spend writing instead. It's great.

Again, and sorry for the promotion, if you need help on your job or personal life reach out. I have time and a lot of experience in areas that can help you, so if you can afford a bit of mentoring or help please reach out and I'm more than happy to help

Talk soon!
