Podcast: Revisionist History

If there was any question that Malcolm Gladwell can make any topic interesting, “Revisionist History” is proof of that.

Podcast premise

From the website:

Revisionist History is Malcolm Gladwell’s journey through the overlooked and the misunderstood. Every episode re-examines something from the past—an event, a person, an idea, even a song—and asks whether we got it right the first time.

Because sometimes the past deserves a second chance.

Revisionist History is an original podcast from Pushkin Industries.

I’m not too fond of history and prefer to listen to other types of shows, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t eat up all the episodes as soon as they come out. Malcolm Gladwell is a storyteller at heart, and he has a unique style of approaching each story. He can either do it by interviewing people, showing facts, or presenting you with some alternative ideas that may question the way people think about something.

The best part of the show is that, with all the things that I described before combined, you will always end up with an opinion about the matter. Besides, Malcolm will educate you on something else without even noticing it.

Why do I like listening to it?

The show is a story lesson, without being one. Beware that the show can be quite frontal about some topics, so you should hear it with an open mind. You don’t need to change your opinion, that’s not the point anyway, but you’ll have an alternative version to think.

Finally, it’s divided into seasons, all of them with a theme, but you can pick one that interests you and listen to it. There’s no need to follow the chronological order or have any background to understand the story.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I do, so give it a try, and you’ll not regret it.
