February 1, 2025

New Year! I hope you had a lovely celebration if you’re into that sort of thing and are ready for a new year.

I’m also ready. Having a new year always brings to mind the “new year, new life” mentality. The first day of a new life doesn’t need to be that way. Any day is good to start, but we’re all guilty of this (gym memberships, stop smoking, etc).

And to prove that we’re all guilty of this I’m doing the same here on the website.

I’ve mentioned in the “Year in Review” that I have new ideas on things to post here and experiments but I have to learn by experience and not define a fixed lineup like I’ve done in the past and then not keep it.

So I won’t have a lineup like mentioned before, but I’ll start experimenting with new things to post here and see if you like them.

So speaking of that, introducing…..

Weekly Skill Boost

I consume a lot of content and always try to find things to learn. As this website can attest, I’m learning as much as possible in public. So I want you to benefit as well. From all the stuff I read I’ll select the ones that I feel are worth your time and share them here. In a way it’s a sort of automation, if you think about it.

This is not an original idea, but I wanted to give it a name so that it has a section on the website in case you wish to search for past entries.

I’m sure you receive many newsletters with similar things, so for now, I won’t contribute for you to have more emails to read. I’ll probably do it in the future if there’s interest, but let’s keep things simple for now. I’ll publish the links here on the website once a week if I find something interesting, so if I miss one, don’t worry. I didn’t see anything that was worth your time.

If you have anything you feel I should focus on or should know about, please reach out and let me know.

What do you want me to focus on?

I don’t ask much here, but if you have specific topics that you would like me to focus on, please let me know. I want to collect feedback and understand what could be the things that could bring more benefit to everyone. If I spend the time writing about stuff, it might as well be something that people need and want, so don’t be shy and let me know. There are social links below if you’re also into that sort of thing.

Final Thoughts

So I hope we start the year in the “right foot” and, together, learn and improve our skills with our weekly skill boost.

You can follow me on Mastodon (new account), Twitter (I’m getting out, but there are still a few people who are worth following) or LinkedIn. Or email works fine as well 🙂

See you soon!
